Epiphanies — Silver Palace

The Priest and the Bread Thief

He lost nineteen years of his life, merely for stealing a loaf of bread. Though he eventually left prison, the stigma never left him, and so he remained an outcast. Though an elderly priest took him in, the man responded to his kindness by stealing his silverware; the police were soon on his tail, and he steeled himself to face life behind bars once more. Until he heard the priest say: "There you are, my son; come, let me gift you these silver candlesticks, too."
